DARTMOUTH HIGH SCHOOL

DHS Welcome back message & Policy update

Dear Parents & Guardians:

We take this opportunity to welcome back our students and trust that everyone has had a safe, relaxing and enjoyable March Break.  This serves as a follow up to the announcement made by Premier Tim Houston and Dr. Robert Strang on March 18th regarding mandatory mask requirement in public schools and on school busses.

Upon our return to school tomorrow (March 21st),  all students, staff and visitors are required to continue wearing a mask while in the building for a few more weeks starting on March 21, 2022.  Please click on the link below for more detailed information about the most recent Public Health requirements.

At the moment, the school does not have a supply of the black reusable masks issued to students over the course of the pandemic.  With the extension of the mandatory mask requirement, we are hoping to receive a supply.  However, in the meantime, students are expected to enter the building wearing a mask.  All students have been offered several reusable masks over time so no one should enter the building without a mask.

The school administration is expected to enforce the continuation of the mandatory mask requirement and would ask for your support in helping us to keep everyone healthy by reminding your child of the ‘mask up’ requirement. The mask must be worn at all times and must cover the mouth and the nose .  The only exception is when eating in the cafeteria or designated areas.

Given where we are in the pandemic with life getting back to some semblance of normalcy, we are looking forward to getting back to our pre-pandemic interactions with the school community in the coming weeks.  Thank you in advance for your continued support.
