Coaching Announcement: New Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach + Assistant Basketball Coach

We are delighted to announce that Former President of Basketball Nunavut and Founder of BEAT Basketball, Head Coach Sunday Thomas and Assistant Coach, Tanika Thomas will join the coaching staff at Dartmouth High School. The duo comes with a wealth of experience and knowledge of the game, having had a variety of positive coaching experiences ranging from High School Varsity Basketball teams to the Arctic Winter Games as well as the North American Indigenous Games.  Closer to home, Coach Sunday and Coach Tanika coached the Cole Harbour District High Varsity Girls Basketball team (2000-2003) as well as the Miramichi Valley High School Varsity Boys team (2004-2007).  They are looking forward to developing a strong and competitive Girls Varsity Basketball program, but more importantly, they are interested in building relationships and a sense of community coupled with promoting good citizenship among the players.  We are confident Coach Sunday and Coach Tanika will continue to inspire, lead and rebuild our Girls Varsity Basketball team -- putting them back on the map!  Meet the new DHS Varsity Girls Basketball Coaching team on Friday, September 9th at 3:30 p.m.  in the Gym for a brief introduction and open gym.
